MFA THESIS EXHIBITION:
WORN WORTH
Worn Worth is a personal reflection on my relationship with fashion. In these works, I have used humor and the peculiar to study my own obsession with clothing and my privilege of simultaneously denying and performing the feminine. I am interested in the notion that as a woman, performing the feminine increases some hidden societal measure of my worth while often also limiting function of my body. By destroying my own clothes and turning them into paper, paired with screen print, knitting and beading, I have generated my own satirical fashion line.
